Dog dies after cliff fall

A dog has died after falling from a cliff near Trevone. It was one of several incidents attended by Newquay Coastguard volunteers over the last few days.

The team was called to help recover the animal on Thursday afternoon, but despite their efforts, it didn’t survive the fall. Other callouts included helping ambulance crews with an incident at Tolcarne, and reports of people and a dog cut off by the tide near Great Western Beach, which turned out to be a false alarm.

The Coastguard is reminding people to call 999 and ask for the service if they see anyone in danger along the coast.
