A new farm shop and business space are earmarked for the Dairyland Farm Park site after it closes this Autumn.
Earlier today owners of the park announced that the beloved Newquay attraction will close on Sunday, 3rd November, marking the end of an era. They've said the park is not for sale and revealed plans to transform it into a destination that will include a farm shop and spaces for local small businesses to grow. Paulo's Circus will also continue at the site.
In a statement to Radio Newquay, one of the park’s owners, Roger Vinton, said:
"Unfortunately, the park has experienced significant losses every year since we bought it in 2018, which has made selling it as a going concern impossible."
"Our plan now is to keep the site and transform it into a destination with a new farm shop, café, play area, and spaces for local small businesses to work and grow."
He's reaffirmed that the animals from the farm, which opened in 1975, will be rehomed.
"Rest assured, all the animals will be well cared for and re-homed by our dedicated Farm Park team."
"We are incredibly grateful for all the support and kindness we've received during our time here, especially from our amazing team on-site."
Final Farewell: A Halloween Celebration
The owners are planning to give the park a fitting send-off:
"Instead of saying goodbye with sadness, we’re planning to make Halloween a celebration of Dairyland. We hope all our friends will join us during half-term to help us create a final week to remember."
Vinton concluded by acknowledging the emotional difficulty of the decision:
"We understand how difficult this decision is for everyone, but it’s one we had to make. It’s been a privilege to be part of so many childhood memories, and we’re thankful for that."
