Solar panel fire put out by crews in Newquay

Firefighters were called to a solar panel fire at a residential property in Newquay.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said two appliances from Newquay were mobilised to Henver Road at 12:23pm on 8th April.

The incident happened at the junction with Porth Four Turns and Trevenson Road.

A spokesperson for the service said crews arrived to find solar panels on the flat roof of a terraced building on fire.

They said: “Fire Control mobilised two appliances from Newquay to reports of a residential fire.

“On arrival firefighters discovered a terraced building, with solar panels on a flat roof, alight. Fire crew isolated the solar panel and extinguished the fire.”
