Motorists are preparing for a significant four-month road closure starting on Monday, as part of the ongoing development at Trevithick Manor Farm.
The closure will affect the A392, stretching from the Morrisons roundabout to Trevemper Road, to allow for the construction of a new signalised junction.
This is the second closure of its kind in the past 12 months. Initially, the work was expected to be completed by the end of this year, but the latest update suggests the road will remain closed until 31st January.
Cornwall Council’s contractor, Cormac, explained that the project will involve the creation of a new signalised junction with pedestrian crossings on the A392, between the Trevemper and Treloggan roundabouts. Additional works include realigning the existing carriageway, installing new drainage systems and utilities, constructing kerbing, installing traffic signals and street lighting, followed by final resurfacing and road marking.
In a letter issued to local residents and businesses earlier this year, Cormac confirmed that access for residents, businesses, and emergency services will be maintained throughout the works. However, there will be no direct route through the construction area, with a diversion route in place.
Radio Newquay will provide regular updates. You can listen on 106.1FM, RadioNewquay.com, smart speakers, and via the free Radio Newquay app.
