People in Newquay are being given the chance to learn more about upcoming eclipses this summer, as well as the Moon and recent space missions, at a special astronomy event this weekend.
The British Astronomical Association Solar Eclipse Special takes place on Saturday from 9:30am until 5pm at Newquay Tretherras.
The event will feature a programme of talks and activities aimed at all levels, from beginners to those with an interest in astronomy.
Organisers say the day will focus on explaining how solar and lunar eclipses happen, how to observe them safely, and what to expect from upcoming events visible from the UK.
There will also be discussion around the latest Artemis missions, including the planned crewed return to the Moon, alongside insights into how ancient civilisations observed the skies.
Visitors will be able to take part in a range of hands-on activities, including using specialist telescopes to observe the Sun, handling meteorite samples, and even building and launching rockets.
Guest speakers will include local experts, with talks covering everything from eclipse science to modern space exploration.
