Spooky Newquay returns for half term

The school break will see the return of the Zombie Crawl on Saturday, the scarily popular carnival parade billed as the biggest free Halloween event in Cornwall.

Made possible with funding support from Experience Newquay, this year’s Halloween festival is set to be bigger and scarier than ever, featuring a packed programme of free family activities, pop-up performances, and a special guest appearance from Titan the Robot. Originally created in Newquay, Titan will perform at 1:30 at the Killacourt with music, comedy, and plenty of surprises.

From 11am, families can take part in face painting, pumpkin carving, wound workshops, circus skills, and spooky storytelling across the town before the main event begins at 3pm. Thousands of zombies, from lifeguards to pirates and pop stars, will gather at Station Parade on Cliff Road before crawling through the town centre to Alma Place near Sainsbury’s.

The festivities continue all week with the Spooky Halloween Trail, featuring eerie shopfronts, creepy installations, and monster deals from local traders. Trenance will also host the Spooky Trenance Trail, adding to the half-term fun beyond the town centre.

Organised by Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) with support from Experience Newquay on behalf of Cornwall Council’s Good Growth Fund, the Zombie Crawl has become one of the town’s most popular community events.

Newquay BID Manager Mark Warren says the event is a major boost for the town during the quieter months, helping to support local businesses and showcase Newquay’s creative spirit.
