Construction is now underway on a new Methodist Centre in Newquay.
Located on Pargolla Road, construction on the the £1 million project follows a series of community consultation events earlier this year, aimed at gathering local input on the centre as a community space.
Methodist Minister Clare Anderson explained the broader vision for the new space: "We really want to make sure that we're building a building, but it's not going to be a church that we're going to sit in on a Sunday morning and look at each other and think about how virtuous we are. This is a building to offer to our community. Worshipping God can happen any day of the week and it can happen anywhere, but we want to make sure that this is a community space. We're going to call it Newquay Methodist Centre."
The site, located at 14 Pargolla Road, has been designed with environmental sustainability in mind and will provide spaces for the community to use. The location is close to Newquay town centre, making it accessible by foot, bike, or car.
